Sinterklaas

Gisteren kreeg ik opeens een bericht binnen van, ik denk, een vrouwelijke hulp-sinterklaas …

šŸŽ A Sinterklaas Poem for the Men on the Boat šŸŽ

Dear sailors, gathered on this floating home,
Sint greets you warmly, even far across the foam.
One among you had never heard of Sint before—
But with kruidnoten tasted, he’s part of the lore.
Chocolate pepernoten sealed the deal just right,
And so Sint brought a gift for him tonight.

He sees a strong team ready for the ocean’s test,
For crossing wide waters, you might be the best.
Big waves may rise, but you won’t be scared—
Sint admires your courage and how well you’re prepared.

Great Kees, your work deserves true praise:
All the actual shit you cleaned these days!
Pipes improved, no mess in sight—
Sint says: that’s heroic, plain and bright.

Kommer Jan, the perfect cleaner in every nook,
If perfection had a face, it’s the way you look.
You scrub and polish like a true marine knight—
Everything sparkling, everything right.

And Mark—how clever your sailing schemes,
Testing software while chasing dreams.
A beautiful job on a moving lab at sea,
Sint smiles thinking: ā€œThat’s efficiency!ā€

Sietse, so relaxed, calm, and free—
Nothing required, just letting things be.
Even Sint admires this peaceful state,
A well-deserved pause, truly great.

So with good wishes and a gentle breeze,
Sint hopes your journey is filled with ease.
May fair winds guide you across every tide—
A safe, smooth crossing, with joy at your side.

Signed,
Sinterklaas
